General information on the collection, processing and use of personal data
Personal data are all information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, for example names, addresses, telephone numbers or email addresses that express a person's identity.
We collect, process and use personal data (including IP addresses) only if this is necessary for the performance of a contract or to carry out pre-contractual measures, or if the processing is necessary to safeguard our legitimate interests.
- Contact data, e.g. name, telephone number, email addresses, postal address
- Communication data, e.g. your IP address, the MAC addresses of the devices used such as smartphones or computers, device and settings information
- Purchase history data, e.g. purchase data including information on the products purchased
- Other personal data, e.g. credit card details, bank details and data on professional career
Log files
Whenever you use the internet, your web browser automatically transmits certain information, which we store in so-called log files.
We store the log files to identify malfunctions and for security reasons (e.g. to investigate attempted attacks) for as long as necessary for these defined purposes, after which they are deleted or anonymised. Log files whose further retention is required for evidentiary purposes are exempt from deletion until the incident in question has been finally resolved and may, in individual cases, be passed on to investigating authorities. Storing log files serves our legitimate interest in the smooth and correct operation of our website.
In particular, the following information is stored in the log files:
- IP address (Internet Protocol address) of the device from which the online service is accessed;
- internet address of the website from which the online service was accessed (origin or referrer URL);
- name of the service provider through which the online service is accessed;
- name of the files or information accessed;
- date, time and duration of access;
- amount of data transferred;
- operating system and information about the web browser used, including installed add-ons (e.g. for a password manager);
- HTTP status code (e.g. "request successful" or "requested file not found").
User analysis
Analysis tools (e.g. Google Analytics) are used on the website gruenfutter.ch. The information collected about the use of the website is stored on the tool providers' servers.
With the help of these analysis tools, we are able to collect and analyse data on how visitors use our website. This allows us to find out when and from which region which pages were viewed.
Further data collected include, for example, the names of the files accessed, the browser used, the functions used or the time spent on the website.
Grünfutter Müller has a legitimate interest in the anonymised analysis of user behaviour in order to optimise both its website and its advertising. If prior consent was requested when you visited our website (e.g. consent to the storage of cookies), the processing is based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with effect for the future.
Disclosure of data
As a rule, we only transfer your personal data to other controllers if this is necessary for the performance of a contract, if we or the third party have an overriding legitimate interest in the disclosure, or if you have given your consent.
In addition, data may be transferred to other controllers if we are obliged to do so by law or by an enforceable official or court order.
Service providers
We engage external service providers for tasks such as marketing services, development operations, data hosting, shipping and debugging. We have carefully selected these service providers and monitor them regularly, in particular with regard to their careful handling and protection of the data stored with them. We oblige all service providers to maintain confidentiality and to comply with the statutory requirements.
Disclosure to recipients outside the EEA
We may also disclose personal data to recipients based outside the EEA in so-called third countries. In this case, before disclosure we ensure, by means of appropriate contractual agreements, that the recipient provides an adequate level of data protection or, where necessary, that you have consented to the disclosure.
Data storage: storage location and retention periods
Your data are stored mainly in Switzerland and Germany. Owing to various service providers, data are also stored in other EU countries and in the USA.
As a rule, we store your data for as long as necessary to provide our offering and the related services, or for as long as we have a legitimate interest in further storage (e.g. we may still have a legitimate interest in postal marketing after a contract has been fulfilled). We then delete your personal data, with the exception of data we are required to retain to fulfil legal obligations (e.g. due to retention periods under tax and commercial law, we are obliged to keep documents such as contracts and invoices for a certain period).
Marketing tools
We use various tools for marketing activities. When these tools are used, your browser in some cases establishes a direct connection to the servers of the respective tool. As a result, the provider receives the information that your browser has accessed the corresponding page of our website. Log files similar to those described in the "Log files" section are also transmitted to the respective provider's servers and may be stored there. The provider or its servers may be located outside Switzerland, the EU or the EEA (e.g. in the USA).
Data is exchanged via third-party cookies.
Newsletter
The email address you provide when subscribing to the newsletter or registering a customer account is used to send you information about our offering. You can object to this use at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in the email.
Security
Our employees and the service providers we engage are obliged to maintain confidentiality and to comply with the provisions of the applicable data protection laws.
We take all necessary technical and organisational measures to ensure an appropriate level of protection and to protect the data we manage, in particular against the risks of accidental or unlawful destruction, manipulation, loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure or unauthorised access.
Your rights
To exercise your rights, please use the details in the "Contact details" section. Please ensure that we are able to identify you unambiguously.
Right to information and access
You have the right to receive information from us about the processing of your data. To this end, you can assert a right of access to the personal data we process about you. The data will be made available to you within 20 working days of receipt of your request.
Right to rectification and erasure
You may request that we correct inaccurate data. Where the statutory requirements are met, you may request that your data be completed or deleted.
To request deletion of your data, please contact us in writing or by telephone. You will find our contact details in the "Contact details" section on this page.
This does not apply to data required for billing and accounting purposes or subject to a statutory retention obligation. Your data will be deleted within 20 working days of receipt of your request.
Data portability
Where the statutory requirements are met, you may request to receive the data you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format or – where technically feasible – that the data be transmitted to a third party.
Right to object
Objection to direct marketing
You may also object at any time to the processing of your personal data for advertising purposes ("objection to advertising"). Please note that, for organisational reasons, your objection may overlap with the use of your data in a campaign that is already running.
Objection to data processing based on "legitimate interest"
You also have the right to object at any time to our processing of your data insofar as it is based on the legal ground of "legitimate interest". We will then stop processing your data unless – in accordance with the statutory requirements – we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for further processing that override your rights.
Withdrawal of consent
If you have given us your consent to the processing of your data, you can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future. This does not affect the lawfulness of the processing of your data carried out before the withdrawal.
Changes to this privacy policy
We reserve the right to adapt our security and data protection measures. In such cases, we will also amend our privacy policy accordingly.
